Saturday 8.1.10

I got up kind of early today (just before 9 on a weekend) and went to the wedding of two friends from work. It was a nice ceremony. I took some pics of them...but they had some really high class wedding photographers there that looked like they were doing an exceptionally good job.

Afterwards, I came home and edited photos...posted them, and then got a call to go play softball with the stake. I hit some nice hits, but didn't get a home run. I also caught about 6-7 fly balls in center field. I wish I had been this athletic in Little League. :)

Edited some more shots of the wedding...

and I fed the girls cereal for dinner because I am too lazy to make anything...

Worked on the HOliday...

I was glad to get to work today because I was given 2 evaluations by a site who hasn't called me in 4 months. I thought we had lost the contract. I had a meeting with the management to find out why they stopped calling me...that was about 3 weeks ago and I still hadn't heard from them. I assumed I had been canned for good.

Anyhow, nice to get another chance. Would have been nice to get the feedback about 4 months ago in what they wanted done differently (basically they just wanted a few more tests administered)...hopefully using these new tests will keep them happy. :)

It takes two...

I was talking to my neighbor as I was getting ready to get into my car on the way to work...

He looked up and saw that we were getting our windows worked on. He asked, "Didn't you just get ductwork done?"

I said, "Yeah."

He asked, "What are you doing now?"

I told him we were replacing the windows because they are metal frames and not very energy efficient.

He said something about his windows being vinyl.

I then said that if it had been up to me, we would have waited on the windows, but that my wife generally gets what she wants.

His reply?

"It takes two to spend money."

Really?!? It takes two? Or can one person in a relationship spend as much as they want without the consent of the other?

I thought that was an odd statement. I know a guy who found out last year that his wife had run up a few secret credit card accounts and had amassed close to $100,000 in debt with nothing to show for it.

Really, it can just take one person in a relationship to spend money.

Getting Busy Again...

It is probably because I haven't been working as many hours this week due to my in-laws being in town, but I am starting to get swamped at work again...nice to have business and income coming in...

Tourette's Syndrome...

I took my two youngest girls to basketball the other night because the like to play on the stage while I play. There was a guy there who has a tendency to cuss at times and occasionally catches himself and says things like "FUUUUU-dge," etc.

Afterwards, the girls told me that they had heard him saying bad words. I explained to them that I think there is something wrong with him. He seems somewhat odd and I think he might have a mild form of Tourette's Syndrome. They asked me what Tourette's Syndrome was. I told them it was when people would swear all the time and that they couldn't help it. They asked, "Oh, you mean like Grandpa?"

Ha ha ha.....I thought that was soooo funny.... :)
