Mount Timpanogos at Pine Hollow

So, I have started to do a lot of composite photos...Adobe Photoshop CS4 does a great job of combining 2 or more photos...Here is one composite image of 4 different photos...

Pool Disaster

So, our 10,000 gallon above-ground pool decided to break today...It flooded Chase's bedroom, shattered his window, cut his face where he was hit by flying glass, and proceeded to flood the rest of the downstairs...I was working all day and avoided most of the clean up, but had to tear up carpets and wet vac the lining underneath for 2 hours when I got home...too much fun...

Mount Timpanogos Temple and Telephone Wires

Random shot on the way home...I liked how the wires were illuminated by the low-set sun...

Beautiful Women...

Abby met her new teacher the other day. Afterwards she told me, "When I was talking to her, I kind of got embarrassed. I always get embarrassed when I talk to pretty people." :)

Annoying...

So, I made a special trip to Salt Lake today, even though I usually work all day in American Fork, so that I could accommodate a foster mother and get the foster kid tested at a time convenient for her. She didn't show up to the appointment. Apparently, she was too busy and forgot. Glad I drove an extra 1.5 hours today for that...

Photographing the Great Salt Lake

I had fun on Thursday night. I went to the Great Salt Lake with a friend from college. We got some pretty cool photos of the sunset...

Old Blue Station Wagon...

Ryan Houston Hey James ... Remember that blue station wagon we bought from your parents? I have a vague memory that it was used as a hearse... Do you remember anything about that? My mom says I'm crazy

James Dotson You are not crazy! My parents used to go pick up the deceased for the mortuary! I actually rode all the way to the state medical examiners office in SLC with my mother and a deceased person....in that station wagon! Never actually used as a hearse for funeral.

Sorry sisters and mom...I told you so... :)

Cliff-Jumping at Mustang Ridge

Went to Flaming Gorge for a funeral this weekend. We ended the weekend on a lighter note and I took pictures of my brother and our friend cliff-jumping at Mustang Ridge. So fun...

Pig Dissection T-shirt

My brother Native Minnow teaches Biology at a University...He was making a joke about a fetal pig teeshirt--so I created one.

The Nathan Game

One of the Psychiatrists at work invented a game he named "The Nathan Game." We have been playing it a lot and it is actually really fun and competitive. We have grabbers and 5 big lego-like blocks of various sizes/shapes/colors. The point is to be the first person to get 3 blocks into your goal (box). Here are some pictures. It has been fun to watch how the game and strategies have developed. We are even creating a vernacular for the game. (Twuff: stuffing 2 blocks at once, Thruff: stuffing 3 blocks at a time, etc.).

Flickr.com and Getty Images

Apparently Flickr.com and Getty Images have a contract where Getty will pick up images from Flickr to market through their business. I have a colleague who had some of his pictures picked up by Getty and he sold something like $1000 of photos in one month. I think I will put some effort into Flickr.com for a while and see if eventually I can get some photos picked up by Getty. That would be so cool.

Trip to Visit Aunts

My girls had a blast in the northern part of the state yesterday...They didn't really like the Bear River Bird Migratory Refuge because I was taking too long taking pictures. They said I tried to starve them (we didn't eat until 3:30).

They had fun at Epitome of Sweetness's house riding in this car, playing with the cat/bunny/dog, and checking out the aquarium. They play so well together and it is cute. I can't believe how much Kate can say, and she is only 13-months old. She speaks in sentences.

They had fun letting TennisGirl curl their hair too...More photos available on Facebook...
