Val

My boss from the OUT Program died today of cancer. I guess he has been battling it for some time. I was asked to fast for him the other day, so I figured things must be looking pretty bleak for him. He was (is) the most amazing person. He had a way of showing that he cared, but could also confront you on the darkest aspects of yourself and make you want to change for the better. We had the best time at the OUT Program and we would laugh so hard every day. We were stuck in this little tiny office...Val, Bethany, and I. I will miss Val--but honestly haven't talked to him in 5 years. I know he is in a better place because of the great life he led. I feel sorry for his children though. Their mother died of cancer about 7 years ago and now their father is gone too...I think one of his sons is only about 18. :(

I am looking forward to attending his funeral. I am sure the eulogies will be touching and spiritual...

Also, I finally decided that the roadkill that I thought might be a penguin was probably a magpie with no tailfeathers...

Double beds fit three?

When our 9-year old daughter was 4, we moved into a friend's house for a few months after we sold our house. We had a little double bed. We told her she couldn't sleep in our bed because it was too small. One morning, we woke up and were talking to each other. All of a sudden, from the bottom of the bed smashed against a wall, our little girl's sleepy head popped up from under a blanket and she said, "See! I told you there was enough room!"

Great sunset tonight

Even though I have been somewhat down in the dumps, I was glad that after I drove to the Holiday Gas Station to pump up my car tire so I could fix it I went out to the American Fork Boat Harbor (wow...that sentence was so long it is probably a run-on sentence). The sunset and colors on the ice were really nice... :) Here are a few of my favorite pics...

Musing...

I have been thinking a lot over the past week...maybe not always the best thing to do...

Took the girls to Utah Lake today so they could walk on water...they seemed to like walking on the ice and saw some people ice-fishing and flying model airplanes.

South Fork Canyon Road - Provo Canyon

...

I think I must have a serotonin deficiency this winter...I have been grouchy, tired, and overly ruminative...maybe I'll try that new prescription food supplement called Deplin.

Haven't been out shooting photos for a few days...except a few shots from my car as I travel to and from work.
