I thought this year's rivalry game was one of the best. Probably because we won in overtime. I love games that go down to the last play, and this BYU/Utah game did not disappoint. They got the ball first in overtime and had to settle for a field goal. We were facing 3rd and long and Max Hall completed a pass to Andrew George for the touchdown. Yet another memorable moment in BYU Football History... :)

Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving at my parents' house was as good as it always is. It was good food and less crowded than years past. Thanks for the great food Mom!!!

Dad, you will like the terraced hillside behind. There was a fire and mudslides, so they terraced it to prevent more flooding...

Apparently, January Jones was stuck in Beaver, Utah during that freak October blizzard that caused so many problems on I-70. She probably stayed holed up in her motel room...I doubt the locals even knew she was there. She talked about it a bit on the Jimmy Fallon show last night.

Worst Mom in the World

I had a little kid come in for testing who is 10 or 11. He has had some problems since moving here last year. He currently acts defiant, won't go to school, won't go to doctor appointments, refuses to do what his parents ask, etc. For some reason, I can tease him a bit and get him to come and do testing with me. I asked him how he was and he said his life sucked as usual. He proceeded to talk about how his mother was the worst mom in the world because she won't let him have fun. I challenged him on this and told him my wife was a sheriff's deputy and that there were WAY worse mothers in the world than his. I gave him a few child abuse cases that have been in the news lately and he wouldn't believe it. He said, "If a parent hates their child that much, they just put them up for adoption." :)

When he left, I challenged him to do what his mother asks the first time she asks and told him if he did he would find that very quickly she would become a nice mom... :)

Chauvenist

A female psychiatrist was talking about a pharmaceutical company today that apparently is owned by Japanese owners. She was talking about how arrogant they seemed when they used to go to visit psychiatrists in hospitals back East. She said, "They were so arrogant and they acted like they didn't like talking to women."

I said to the female psychology intern next to me, "I don't mind talking to women, it's the listening part that I find difficult." :)
