Lightning Bugs
Oh, and I finally saw lightning bugs for the first time. They are really cool. My little girls love them.

Jumping Spiders
Abby came in very scared because she had seen a big spider in our room (guest room in WV). She insisted I go kill it. I walked in there and it looked like a wolf spider on the floor. As I approached to kill it by stomping on it, it jumped like a foot and a half! It then began banging into things and it freaked me out. I had never heard a spider hit things that hard and I had never seen a spider jump that far. I was afraid it would jump up my leg. I finally got a cue stick and flushed it from behind the door. Then I stomped on it. Turns out it wasn't a spider, but a strange light brown cricket. :)

Fly-fishing American Fork River
Rainbow Trout...American Fork River
the river is finally fishable...barely...I can't wait for the rest of the run-off to slow down so I can wade fish easier without the fear of being knocked off my feet. I fished about 2 hours yesterday and only caught about 6 fish...It will get easier to fish soon.

Fly-fishing & Fablehaven
I went flyfishing today on the American Fork River...Still a little high due to continued run-off, but more fishable than it was last week. I decided to nymph today because of hte high water...caught about 6-7 in 2 hours...not the greatest, but fun to get out of the house for a bit...
I also read all three Fablehaven books this week...The author, Brandon Mull, lives in our ward, so I thought I should see what all the fuss is about. The first book was good, but not as well written as 2 and 3. If you read book 1 and didn't like it very well, make sure you check out his other 2 books. They are very well written, fun, interesting, and full of adventure.

A lesson I learned from working for DCFS...
If you think your 10-year-old son smashed your 4-year-olds wee-wee in the toilet seat, it is not okay to make him snap a mousetrap on his to let him know how it feels...
