My wife and I were walking the other day with our 6-year old. We ran into the doctor that delivered both her and her younger sister. We told her, "That was Dr. *****. He delivered you." She replied, "He delivered me in a mail box?!"

Don't look at my precious hair Daddy!!!

Well, I got up this morning around 7 AM to get the little ones off to school/preschool. As I was getting ready to dress my 3-year old, she ran over to the closet, faced me with her arms spread out to block my view and said, "Don't look at my precious hair! Don't look at my precious hair, Daddy!" I looked over and saw a pair of scissors on the floor, and a wad of her hair in her shoe holder. :( Last night after I sent her to bed, she must have gone into her closet and snipped off all of her bangs and a little off the left side too...It looks horrible. You will all get a chance to see it in the Christmas card we send out this year, because her hair grows so slowly that it still will look funny by then...

Generating Referrals...ideas???

Well, my boss seemed somewhat concerned that I haven't been generating enough of my own work...He wants me to generate more of my own referrals from DCFS, JJS, and the community. Anyone run a private practice, and what do you do to generate referrals???

Impaired Driving...

One of my clients came in for a neuropsychological evaluation the other day. She seemed impaired and had a very flat affect and watery eyes. We thought it was due to her dementia/depression/overmedication. Apparently she was quite impaired because she received a DUI on the way home. If I had realized she was too impaired to drive, I would have tried to get her to find another way home. :(
