"I love you Dad..."
Whenever my 3-year old gets in trouble for doing something, and I raise my voice or give her a short lecture, she always says, "I love you Dad..." Then I am forced to say, "I love you too, but please don't do such and such..." :) Talk about taking the wind out of your sails...

My daughter always says, "Hugga!" Last night she wanted me to get out of bed and go get her something. I told her No. Then I told her in a minute, and she said, "Oh..here, Hugga..." gave me a hug then said in a low voice, "Now get up..."
I found your blog from my Bengaluru renaming post.
I never said "I love you dad" to my dad. I never will. He never said that to me either. It is hard to mean it. It is easy to mean it sometimes hard to say it.
But his lectures have made me a better man.
Yes sir, kids will definitely remember them. I have also learnt a lesson. If what my father said was "simple and stright" I tend to remember it more than others. For example, he said "If you are working very hard, first thing you sould do is stop working, that will make you think!". Simpler the more striking.
