Psychologist Pet Peeve #4
Another pet peeve...lack of a specific referral question when psychological testing is ordered. I receive forms all the time that say they want psych testing or neuropsych testing with no other helpful information. I have three catalogs full of psychological testing materials/tests in my office...they test a wide range of symptoms. I need to know specifically what needs to be answered by the tests to determine which tests to give. You could literally spend thousands of hours administering psych tests, and if the question is something obscure, you might still not answer the referral question.

Just administer all of them. Then bill them for all of them. Job security, right?
;-)
----OR---Call them on the phone and ask them---beats being pissed off
Even when you ask them, they don't know what they want...that is what I am saying...
