I agree that we ought to always give our best effort, yet often fail to do just that. That's not to say that I do everything half assed, just that I find myself putting things off if I can't do it perfectly right then. I'm not quite sure what my self portrait would look like. Maybe it'd look like one of the graphs from my TAFS paper (whenever that comes out).

I love this quote. I do think that our work is in some way a self portrait. When I write, I dig down looking for the best me and then try to get that out on the page. Sometimes it works and sometimes... well I suppose I'll always be a work in progress
