I was looking for histories of his life, of which I now have two or three, when I noticed your post on the bulletin board. I looked in a couple of places for a pedigree and found one of his ancestors on Ancestry.com. The pedigree was submitted by nancyb8873@hotmail.com. In short, his father was Robert Brown born 1775 at Rockingham, Richmond, North Carolina, USA and his mother was Margaret Polly, born 30 Jun 1783 at Shell, Kentucky, USA. Her line ends there."
