Clinton fence-sitters...

"Chelsea asked about Monica Posted: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 7:19 PM by Domenico Montanaro
Filed Under: 2008, Clinton
From NBC's Lauren Appelbaum
Campaigning in Indianapolis for her mother, Chelsea Clinton had a quick retort when asked a question she had never had before. When a male student asked her if her mother's credibility had been hurt during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Clinton quickly responded.

"Wow, you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that question, in the, maybe 70 college campuses that I've been to," Clinton bitterly said at Butler University. "And I don't think that's any of your business.""

The student who had asked the question was taken aback by this sarcastic rebuke, as he was a Clinton supporter who was constantly having to defend his support of Hilary to his friends who would always bring that up as a reason that they would never vote for her.

My wife has verbalized in teh past that she views her as weak and that she would never vote for her because she didn't divorce Bill during that scandal. It seems to be a legitimate question and maybe Chelsea did miss an opportunity to convince some fence-sitters out there who perceive her mother as too weak to lead this nation...

What do you think?

I don't think a wife should have to have public, nationwide humiliation like that from her husband. I can't believe she stayed with him, either. I would have respected her more if she would have left him. So I agree with your wife, I would never vote for her, her husband was a piece of crap and she just showed all of America to put up with crap. Unless, of course that if she gets in the white house she'll cheat publicly with a hot 20 something guy. Then it would be okay.

I honestly don't think she and Bill even have a relationship. Maybe they just stay together for Chelsea. Why that is, I don't know. I think she does her thing and he does his. I just can't believe there are people out there who think she is such a great woman that she should be president. She is so 2-faced - saying one thing and doing the opposite. I'm actually kind of afraid for this country, no matter who wins.

I agree with Nene, I don't think they have a relationship to speak of, I think she just uses him for his coattails to try to get in to the presidency. And as far as my opinion of her with relation to her husband, I say "birds of a feather flock together". I think they both are low lifes. The real low point for me came when she publicly stated that she wasn't going to run for president, then a few months later moved to New York and became Senator so that she would be in a position to run for president. I am very serious when I say, that if she becomes president, I'm moving back to China.

I'd take her over the idiot we have in office now any day. That said, I'm sure that if the Democratic party is stupid enough to give her the nomination they'll be on the outside looking in after November's election.

I don't think she stayed with him because she is weak, I think she has her own reasons (which totally escape me!), but I don't think she has a relationship with him, either. She has some other motive for staying, and maybe that is political ambition. I don't think it is because of Chelsea, not with Chelsea being the age she is. I can not ever see myself voting for her, but I am not too excited about any of the presidential candidates. I think they are all scary. Pretty sad when you vote for someone just because they are the least scary.

I agree with Inside Stories, I don't think it's weakness at all it's total political cunning - think about it, has there ever been a divorced president? Plus, she was probably totally thinking at the time - "oh you're sooooo gonna make it up to me for this one Bill" and now, him "helping" campaign and stuff probably is just that. That's my two cents at least.

Not that I'm voting for her, but she was already in the white house once. I think she had more influence than we give her credit for. LOL :) I just don't want the "First Man" to be the man that humiliated our nation. It will be an interesting election either way.

I still think she sent women the wrong message by staying...
And not just her. All of the governor's wives who have been having prostitutes, call girls, and all that...they should have all left on the matter of principle.
My old boss' wife left him after he cheated on her...out of principal and she still loves him to this day. But you have to draw a line somewhere.
