Temple Photos...

A lady from Highland, Utah contacted me the other day about possibly using some of my temple photos in a book she has written that is going to be published this summer.  I think I will do it as it would be good exposure...However, she hasn't replied to my emails/phone call for about 4 days, so maybe she changed her mind...

Potty Trained???

So the other day, I got home from work. I smelled a horrible smell coming from the bathroom, which I recognized as the smell when someone does "number 2" and doesn't flush. I went in and flushed the toilet that my little girl had not flushed. Then I looked down...there on the floor was a piece of poop on the puppy pad. Not dog poop--human poop. I had to pick it up with toilet paper and flush it too. I confronted M**** about it later that day...she initially denied, then told me that she had to go really bad and A*** was hogging the toilet. She peed on a puppy pad about 6 months ago thinking that was a good idea. As long as it isn't a regular occurrence, it guess it's not a big deal, but I wish she would u se the toilet. :)

Reading with Kids

Lately, I have decided to start reading with my little girls. We picked out a book by Beverly Cleary called Ramona Forever. It has been fun to read with them. One funny comment from the book was about a lazy cat and the family would joke, "There's Picky-Picky, batteries not included." The little girls and I decided that we will use that one with kids when they are lazing around on the couch and not doing their chores. :)

Stereotypes...

My 4-year-old was getting ready to go to a Primary activity today (a church activity for kids). They were having a pancake breakfast to meet their new teachers. They were supposed to take 3 items that told something about them. She grabbed a Littlest Pet Shop dog, a pink diary, and a little Chinese doll. She said, "This baby is from Chinese....." (pause) "...She's a Ninja!!!"

Glad Small Town People Were Laid Back...

I have been reminiscing with friends on Facebook on crazy things we used to do in high school. I am glad that parents never called the police and that the police never pressed charges in most instances. In today's world, I am sure my friends and I would have had at least 1 charge of criminal mischief, trespassing, joyriding, etc. Thank heavens for laid-back small towns...

Face-Painting in a Whole New Way...

I went to a Chevron today on my way home from work. I had to use the bathroom and warily walked past the long-haired man with a filthy face washing himself in the sink. I figured he was homeless and needed a 'bath' of sorts. I did my business, then went to wash my hands, thus coming into contact with the strange looking man.

He asked, "Do you know anything about oil paints?" His voice sounded normal enough.

I told him that I didn't really, then asked if that was what was on his face.

He responded, "Yes, I was painting and then got carried away. I was having a really good time."

I told him that acrylics will wash off, but that I thought it would take something like turpentine to take oils off.

He then asked, "Do you think gasoline would take it off?"

I told him I thought it would, but that maybe it wasn't the best idea to rub his face with gasoline.

He replied, "I guess you're right."

He then exited the bathroom, borrowed the clerk's cell phone, and called someone else for assistance.

That must have been some good hallucinogens he was using???

EPPP

Well, I took the EPPP today. I was not encouraged by the time I was finished. There were nearly 80 questions that I was unsure of. I went back over the ones I had marked and felt pretty confident on about 40 of them. The last 40 or so I was still somewhat unsure of. Then I reviewed the questions I thought I had right and found at least 2 that I had answered wrongly.

So, I figure I probably missed at least 10% of the ones I thought I had right. I figure of the 40 I was pretty confident on, I had narrowed it down to 2 choices and probably got at least 20 of those right on chance. On the other 40 or so, I had a 1 in 4 chance and got around 10 of those right. So, if I am right, then I likely passed...However, I can' t be sure. I hate having to wait, but I guess if I didn't pass, then I will get some updated materials and study more diligently so I will make sure I pass it...

EPPP

I registered to take the EPPP on Saturday at 12:30...I am nervous. I have studied for the last few months, but have not been as diligent as I should have been. Hopefully I will do fine. I was scoring right around passing on all of the practice exams, and when I retake them, I get over half of the ones I got wrong right. Let's hope that is enough.

Kids Rooms

Miranda went in her room the other morning to get dressed...(she usually sleeps in Abby's room because they both are scared of the dark still). She surveyed the messy floor filled with toys, shoes, books, and clothing. She walked over by her closet to a bare patch of carpet and proudly exclaimed, "Look...It is clean over here!"

I went to play basketball last night, so couldn't tuck the girls in. I asked them, "Why can' t you just let Mom tuck you in?" Abby replied, "Because then she will see my messy room and get mad at me." :)

Embarrassing moments...

So, I got a turkey blind for XMAS from my father-in-law. I have wanted one so that I can get closer to wildlife and birds when I am taking photos. I busted it out today to see if I could get some pictures of all the pine siskens (birds) that were attacking my new thistle-seed bird feeder. So I set it out on the porch and was sitting in it taking pictures. All of a sudden, I see some teenage boys pull into the driveway. I was immediately embarrassed to be in a blind on the porch. I quickly shifted it over away from the door and hoped they wouldn't see me in it. As they approached they made a comment about it being cool that there was a tent on the porch. They rang the doorbell, and I was still hoping they wouldn't see me inside. All of a sudden, Abby pops out and says, "Here's your phone, Dad." So, I had to reach out of the blind in front of them and take it. "Thanks," I said, not actually meaning it. Abby kept wanting to talk, and I told her to go in. The boys went in too. Then I hear people congregating to the window repeated times, and the laughter of the twins mocking me.

On the bright side, I did get some nice close ups of the birds...
